Category: Butyl Rubber Sheet
Product Style Number & Name:
GS5850 Butyl rubber sheet
GS5850 Butyl rubber sheet
Butyl rubber (IIR), also known as Isobutylene-isoprene, is impermeable to air and used in many applications requiring airtight rubber. Butyl rubber sheets have outstanding resistance to gases, vapors, heat aging, oxygen, ozone, sunlight, abrasion and tearing. They have excellent resistance to alkalis and acids and are good for electrical insulation.
The resistance to fuels, solvents, oils and hydrocarbons is poor. Cold weather properties are fair.
Applications:
Extensively used for general engineering applications like gaskets, grommets and tank linings, seals and packaging, and where low gas permeation is needed.
